Eye of the Storm

A Letter to Megan
oktober 17, 2016

On a cold winter night on December eleven
Their ship was caught in the midst of the storm
The howling wind took their hopes to the shore
Still they’re sailing to war

At the water’s edge she stood dreaming
for her love to hold her in her arms again
With the wind in her hair and her feet in the sand
There’s an ocean between her and her man

How can you know when you’re left all alone
And you’re troubles have grown and there’s no place to go
You’ve got a restless soul and your sails have been torn
It’s the quietest in the eye of the storm

The sun rose up over an ocean of blood
Red waters that now stained the shore
The battle was lost and their bodies
Now lay left forgotten on the dark ocean floor

The howling wind brought his long lost calling
To the bay with whispers from ghosts far away
And in the wind she followed his eternal love
For her soul to be taken away

How can you know when you’re left all alone
And you’re troubles have grown and there’s no place to go
You’ve got a restless soul and your sails have been torn
It’s the quietest in the eye of the storm
